Sub-Capricornica

 The New Middle Ages is, within reason, a reset. Knights and Castles, Sultans and Samurai. Even much of say, Latin America at first glance resembles much as it did the 16th century. America is truly unlike its medieval counerpart, radically changed and shares little parallels. But there are a few other places that are mirrors of Medieval America, more like pockets  than coast to civillizations.

Manny North Europeans graviated towards America because of its familiar, temparate climate, able to grow their staple crops and bulding experience. But there were a few places at the end of the world that evoked that were attractive, especially as the colonial era shifted into the Victorian era. Australia. South Africa. Argentina. These saw European settlement sometimes well after America was populated, and in general resembled the lifestyles of American Cowboy: Your Gauchos, your Drovers, your Voortrekkers, due to the wide open space and that prime agriculrutral pots were mere ribbons.

The collapse of the industrial world has seen this societies revert hard, even harder than elsewere, due to isolation: Both from the wider world and each other. In fact, in much of the Southern Hemisphere, nature has reclaimed itself much harder, easily shedding off the thin concrete of post-instrustrial civillization, and usually the more tribal ways of life like the Zulu, Xhosa, and Abroriginals of Australia has come to dominate except for a few port cities along the trade routes. As a result, most of these tribes, clans, or kingdoms are more socially intergrated with the more localized continent than their ancestors, even if travellers find their fair complexions to be surprising and startling.

Argentina is a little more distinct from Australia and South Africa, as it somewhat part of the wider Latin World, and has a larger population than Australia and the coast of South Africa put together--Bueones Aires is the largest city below the Tropic of Capricorn. However a fertile and cool as the pampas are, they still difficult to grow trees, and as a result very little permanant structures are built and the warriors use bolas and bones for weapons more often than not.

For the Norhern Hemisphere, particularly in the Christian World, this is known as Sub Capriocornia, a strange mirror world of reverse seasons and eccentric peoples. Neiher Northern nor Southern, neither New World or Old World.

The Ancient word strongly believed in the concept of Terra Australis, that land mass simply must exist on the other side of the world in order to keep the world balanced They were mostly incorrect on the actual landmass, and that without Austrlia and Antartica the world would literally tip over, but they were definiely righ about it existing. Lore and legens sometimes sprout up about Sub Caprincorna: That their existence of light haired people at the bottom of the world that proves even genetics works from a polar standpoint. They believe boomerangs always rerutrn to the hand that wields them simply because their world is upside down.
